Insurance

At the ARPO meeting of 10-11-06, a half hour prior to the start of the official meeting was devoted to a question and answer period with insurance representatives for the City and the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System.  In attendance from the City Benefits office were Gayle Paulus, (CIGNA), Kellee Maxwell and Jane Wright, (Blue Cross/Blue Shield), and Joy Fisher, representing PacifiCare for PSPRS.

The CIGNA rep advised the group that anyone living out of State can now obtain CIGNA health insurance at the same premium and benefits as those living in the Phoenix area, if they live in an area that is covered by a CIGNA plan.  California is one State where this offer does not apply. PSPRS provides $100 or more per month subsidy towards our health insurance.  If you have health insurance other than through the City or the State and do not get this subsidy, you may be able to acquire dental insurance through PSPRS with no cost to you.  Contact PSPRS at 602-255-5575 to see if you qualify for this plan.
